Q: When is the program?
A: Thursday, June 11, 2026 - Friday, June 26, 2026
Q: Where will I be living in Kent, Ohio?
A: During your program, you will be housed in the Stopher Hall. You will have a private standard room with a private ensuite bathroom. You will also have four room cleanings during your stay.
Q: How and where will I eat?
A: During your orientation on June 11th, you will receive a visa card from FHI360 where your per diem for the program will be available. You will use this card to pay for food on campus or in downtown Kent. Your per diem includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
When you arrive on Thursday, snacks will be available in your hotel room along with Kent State swag and room items.
Q: Where will my program be held on campus?
A: All of your courses will be held on Kent State campus in Moulton Hall, a short walk from Stopher Hall.
Q: What type of activities will we be involved in?
A: You will take take workshops and attend site visits in line with your program. Please see your calendar on this website to learn more about your program of activities.
During the program, you will also take part in plenty of cultural activities. You will see a musical in downtown Cleveland, attend an Akron Rubber Ducks baseball game, and meet with Friendship Families from Kent to learn about American culture and families.
Q: Who will pick me up at the airport?
A: Your transportation from the airport to the hotel will be arranged beforehand. Your program coordinator will meet you at the airport and ensure you get to your transportation. You may have to wait at the airport for a short time for other participants to arrive and share transportation to campus.
Q: What should I pack!?
A: Summer in Kent is beautiful and hot! Please bring bring comfortable clothes and walking shoes. Business casual is recommended for all site visits. Do not bring big souvenirs for the people you meet here in the U.S. If you do want to bring small items, consider bringing magnets, pens, etc.
Q: Will I have time to explore outside of program activities?
A: Yes! While the program is intensive, you will have most evenings off and a free day.
